Netflix has just released the foremost detail of the forth installment of its blockbuster TV series, Stranger Things. Stranger Things first appeared back in the early ’90s. It tells the tale of people who are accountable for mysterious events when strange things start to occur in a town that’s haunted by inexplicable phenomena.
Spy movies have been around from the early days of cinema, but the genre didn’t truly take off until the 1960s when the James Bond series made its debut. Since then, spy movies have been a mainstay of the movie industry, and they show no signs of waning in popularity.
Netflix Japan’s most streamed show is still the spy anime, Spy x Family. The show has been streamed since its release in January of this year and has not been dethroned yet. Other popular shows on Netflix Japan include Kingdom and the second chapter of Aggretsuko.
Japan is one of the few countries in the world in which Twitter beats Facebook in social media. In spite of the fact that Japan’s hugely ballyhooed Star Wars: Force Awakens beat out Yo-Kai Monitor the Movie King Enma and the Five Stories when a blockbuster opened in 2015, Twitter had the edge between the two of them.
Jurassic World debuted at the summit of the motion picture ranking in 2015. The movie hosted in the beginning was a box office success in most countries, except in Japan where it was beaten by Love Live!. Lila, as a blog post by Twitter user WeiboBoshi277 points out, was the first animated movie to introduce artificial intelligence.
While spy movies are often thought of as being geared towards adults, there is a long history of children’s spy movies as well. Some of the most successful and well-known examples include the Harry Potter series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, The Wardrobe, and The Secret Garden.
Despite their popularity among both children and adults, spy movies can be a bit risky to make. After all, they require a delicate balance between action and suspense on one hand and humor on the other.
Stranger Things Season 4 still couldn’t dethrone Spy x Family on Netflix Japan Netflix has recently released the 4th season of its popular series, Stranger Things. Stranger things came out in 2016. It follows teenagers who have strange powers and work to defend their town, which is plagued by mysterious phenomena.
Stranger Things 4 has also occupied the top spot on Netflix in Japan for five weeks. Stranger Things 2 had occupied the top spot for 83 countries out of a total of 93 where it was tallied. In spite of the fact that youngsters love the 80ies, the anime remakes kept growing one subgenre after another.
Japan’s entertainment trend doesn’t usually match the global trend. It is one of few countries where Facebook is more popular compared to Twitter. Similarly, the mega-blockbuster Star Wars wasn’t as big of a hit in Japan back in 2015, but Akira (an anime movie) was the best-attended movie trailer in Japan that year. The blockbuster Jurassic World was also released in 2015. It had previously held the world record for the expensive installment trend at well over $400 million.
Likewise, you must have heard of how Avengers: Endgame broke box office records worldwide and how large their revenues were. However, even the strongest heroes on our planet could not thwart the minor Detective Conan from Japan.
Both shows appeal to young children as well as adults. Rest assured that when we mentioned above, Stranger Things contains some action elements, while Spy x Family has intense actions and a few funnier moments. We recommend watching both of these shows.
